So we’ve already established that I do not currently live in a tropical paradise, right? In case you need a refresher, here you go:
Michigan is paradise to me. But tropical it is not. And in the winter I really miss the lush greenery.
This year I decided to take matters into my own hands and recreate that lushness inside my home. Bringing the outside in, as they say.
All you need is a stack of paper and some scissors. Do it while watching a movie with the family and it doubles as getting things done and hanging with the fam.
A couple rules: don’t follow a pattern and don’t overthink it. Nature isn’t exact and neither should you be. In fact, it’s the variety that adds to the depth and interest.
Once I taped them up I concluded I’m going to need a lot more. As the snow has melted and we now have a zero percent chance of a white Christmas here in the Detroit suburbs I’ve decided to embrace my green Christmas.
