I was so excited to try Haunted World in Caldwell, Idaho for the first time! I brought my husband with me we both loved the whole experience!
I was so impressed by every detail. A zombie towers over the entrance and the place is surrounded by pumpkins, grisly monsters, and skeletons. The song “Thriller” was blasting as we walked in and there were people dancing and sitting on hay bales around fire pits enjoying hot chocolate and treats. Monsters and creatures creeped and stalked in and around the crowds, sometimes stopping to take pictures with the guests.
Haunted World is divided into two different sections. Skullvania is a huge building that transports you to a spooky war hospital/insane asylum complete with Frankenstein-like doctors, a nurse that chases you with a bloody pair of scissors, and straightjacket inmates that moan and reach for you between the bars.
Every room had so much detail. There were haunting war photos on the walls and even the smell of the place stank of must and decay. Everything was so well done. The animatronic creatures popped out just when you weren’t expecting it and the actors lurked in dark corners and jumped out at you or stalked you as you walked by.
The other section of Haunted World is a trail that leads you through 35 acres of cornfield and trees. This trail takes you everywhere from a swamp, to an abandoned mine, to a carnival and so much more. I loved that around every corner you just didn’t know where you were going to end up next. One minute we were trying to find our way through a dark shed while trying not to bump into hanging heads and the next we were plunging down a slide into the dark without being able to see the bottom.
We kept saying how impressed we were by the special effects and how great every scene looked. We have already decided to make Haunted World a Halloween tradition and I can’t wait to go again! I dare you to give Haunted World a try!
