Oh, how I despise those achy, bloated days when feeling oh so crummy. We all go through the pain, the cramping and the days during our periods where we just want to hide from the world.

oh, and maybe some of this…wait…who am I kidding?
Okay, so it’s probably not the best way to handle things but….I’m ON MY PERIOD. I have an excuse!
Did you know that there are actually 150 symptoms that can affect you the week before your period arrives? Your body is doing a lot so it’s absolutely normal to experience many symptoms. In fact, 80% to 90% of women experience some form of physical or emotional changes before their period.
Dealing with the lovely joys of ‘that time of the month’ for years, I have come across a few products that I have given me relief. Today, I am excited to share with you my 5 favorite products that help me get relief during my period.
1. Heating Pad
A heating pad is something I often reach for when doubled over in pain. The heat helps to relax the muscles that are contracting in your uterus.
So how does Pamprin work? Pamprin Multi-Symptom contains three active ingredients: a diuretic to fight that awful bloating and water weight gain, an antihistamine to relieve irritability and a pain reliever to help alleviate cramping.
If you reach for any pain reliever…I highly suggest you reach for Pamprin! It’s been a lifesaver for me. You can purchase it at Walmart.
I know, I know, exercise is the LAST thing I want to do when in pain. However, exercise (aerobic exercise to be more precise) helps release endorphins and actually assists in reducing cramps.
When you’re doing any type of aerobic exercise, your body is pumping more blood; this helps to release endorphins to counteract the prostaglandins and reduce your cramps. Exercising three to four times a week is good for the overall health of your body, but it is especially important if you’re prone to painful menstrual cramps.
4. A Dog
Listen you can’t really go wrong with a dog. It won’t judge you, will love you unconditionally and makes a great cuddle partner (and heating pad if you don’t have one). If you don’t own a dog borrow one. My dog has sat next to me and loved me through it all.
5. Cute Baggy Clothing
No one wants to wear ANYTHING form fitting when they are on their period. So girls get yourself a cute pair of sweats or comfy clothes for when Aunt Flo is visiting. You’ll be comfortable and that’s all that really matters.
What are your favorite must-have products when you are on your period?
I hope I have helped you find some relief with my picks!
