It’s Spring! I think of Spring as a time of renewal not only in the world around me but in my home as well. It is the time to scrub down your trim, wipe down the walls, clean the windows and refresh your space.
Getting the interior of your home clean is important but so is treating the exterior of your home. Where we live (in the swamps of DC) we get SO many mosquitos. Every spring and summer we mostly stay indoors because the mosquitos can get so bad. Thankfully this year I learned about Mosquito Joe.
Mosquito Joe’s mosquito control treatments are tailored completely to your yard and applied by a skilled technician. I was excited to learn that all treatments rid areas of mosquitoes, ticks, and fleas for 21 days. This will definitely help not only us but our dog as well. Okay, so lets head inside to start the interior refresh. One of the first things I tackle is the kitchen. So much buildup of grime and grease can get everywhere when you are cooking. Thankfully, I recently found Krud Kutter products and gave the Kitchen Degreaser All-Purpose Cleaner and Heavy Duty Cleaner and Disinfectant a try.
The products are amazing for getting through grease, grime and disinfecting surfaces. The Krud Kutter Kitchen Degreaser All-Purpose Cleaner is non-toxic and safe for food preparation surfaces. It removes heavy grease and grime and is Safer Choice Certified. Krud Kutter Heavy Duty Cleaner and Disinfectant is bleach-free and leaves a streak-free finish. It cleans, deodorizes and disinfects all at once. It is also EPA registered to kill 99% of bacteria and germs.
One of my least favorite chores is cleaning dishes. I just hate how difficult and how long it takes to remove stuck on food and grease from dishes. Thankfully the Original Scrub Daddy has come to the rescue with its Dishwand System. The system comes with 3 scrubbing heads:
The Daisy-for multitasking. It’s scatch free petals are perfect for non-stick pans, utensils and even fine china.
The Sunflower-for sticky goo stuck to the bottom of the pan. Angled at 45 degrees the sunflower’s flat Armortec mesh scrubs away stubborn stains. Flip it over to use the built-in scraper.
The Hyacinth-for narrow openings. Petals line the hyacinth stalk to clean sides while the Armortec top scrubs the bottom. The core of the hyacinth is flexible letting you get in each curve and crevice.
My favorite thing about the dishwand system is that it can be sanitized in the top rack of the dishwasher. I also love that the vase/valet has a suction cup base with space for all three of the scrubbing heads to air dry. The built-in directs all excess water from the heads to drain into the sink. Oh, and I must also mention that the daisy’s wand is ergonomic and dispenses your favorite dishwashing soap. To find out more about the Scrub Daddy system click here.
Now on to the bathroom where I have been meaning to replace our showerhead since last year. This past weekend we finally replaced it with the Waterpik: WaterSense Showerhead. The WaterSense Showerhead from Waterpik is a water regulating showerhead that keeps the flow at (or below) 1.8 gallons per minute to conserve water.
California, Colorado, and NYC have all adopted laws requiring 2.0 gpm WaterSense products at retail stores. Because of this most of the national retailers have started selling only 2.0 gpm products. With the new federal regulations going into effect this summer the government has now decreased maximum flow rate to 1.8 gpm.
So whether you live in those areas or just would like to conserve water I highly recommend picking up a Waterpick: WaterSense Showerhead. My family and I are all about helping the earth in whatever way we can and using less water are one of those ways. I will say that I have noticed since we switched our shower head it still has a pretty powerful spray but it definitely uses less water. To learn more about Waterpik Shower Heads click here.
Keeping things organized and picked up while living in a small space can be quite difficult. The organization is especially difficult when you can’t remember where half of your things are. This is why Duck Brand: Duck Pack & Track is saving my life right now. Duck Pack and Track makes it SO easy to find and store all the things I have put in storage around our home.
All you need to do is store your items ie: winter clothes, holiday decor, etc. Then purchase Duck Pack and Track labels at Walmart or Walmart.com. After that, download the Duck Pack and Track app (available on Apple or Android). Next, place a pack and track label on your storage container and scan the unique QR code using your smartphone. Name the box and log its contents and location and ta-dah! Everything will be easily stored away and found thanks to Duck Pack and Track.
Duck Pack and Track is wonderful for storage, moving, dorm rooms, workplaces etc. I have been using it while storing away some of my children’s artwork and clothing and I LOVE how easy it is to use. Click here to watch how easy it is to use Pack and Track. Last but not least, when opening boxes and lining drawers I adore Westcott Scissors. Their Carbo Titanium 8” Straight Scissors; Titanium Bonded Non-Stick 8” Scissors; Titanium Bonded 8” Straight Scissors are as tough as they come. The carbonitride titanium bonded blades are 8x harder than untreated stainless steel and will stay sharper longer. With their non-stick coating, it makes the blades corrosion and adhesive-resistant. Trimming sticky liners is incredibly easy and it comes as no surprise why Westcott are the world’s favorite scissors. You can find out more about Westcott’s line of scissors by clicking here.
My indoor and outdoor space has been refreshed thanks to the amazing products above and now I can sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful Spring sunshine. Happy Spring!
