There are times when I am on top of my routines: I floss my teeth, I follow all the steps of my facial routine. There are other times when I am decidedly not on top of my routines. In these times I rush through and do the bare minimum. I still brush my teeth but will skip flossing. I skip steps -and products!- on my face. In the flurry of March I did little more than wash my face. The day my newest sample from Annmarie Skin Care came in the mail I looked in the mirror to see myself looking incredibly worn and old. Oops. The arrival of the Probiotic Serum with Tremella could not have been timed better. It brought me back in line almost instantly.
I received a sample size of this product to facilitate my honest review.
Honestly I don’t know what the word serum really means with regard to skin care. They could call it runny goo or magic elixir and it wouldn’t make a difference to me. I had avoided all serums for about a decade after a really bad reaction to a serum from a beauty counter. I never have any troubles with Annmarie Skin Care so I didn’t give it a second thought.
This probiotic serum goes on your clean face before your moisturizer. Unlike most of the Annmarie products which all seem scented with flowery or citrusy essential oils, this one smelled decidedly like root vegetables. It wasn’t a bad smell, but it surprised me because I’m so used to everything smelling like lavender or the like. However, I am a fan of vegetables and what they do to my body, so I decided vegetables for my face was a good thing too.
It didn’t take long at all before my skin smoothed out both in tone and texture. There was no earth-shattering elimination of 20 years of life. In fact you should be cautious of any product claiming to do just that. Instead what I saw was my own skin, my own face, happier, healthier. It felt like a happy sigh. Like my body feels when I’m good at eating my vegetables.
This Probiotic Serum with Tremella is the vegetables for your skin care regime. A quick online search will teach you, as it did me, that tremella is a mushroom which has been used for centuries in cuisine and skin care in Asia. Combined with plankton extract and fermented olive leaf extract and all the antioxidants and other botanicals, this serum works hard so your skin doesn’t have to. In fact, while it’s great for all skin types, it does seem especially suited for sensitive skin. You can read more from the company about it here. It certainly agrees with my own sensitive skin.
