It’s been such a rough season for flu and strep I’m doing everything I can to clear the air and keep my family healthy. It’s still a bit early to start my garden outside, but it’s never too early for indoor plants! Indoor plants do supposedly help clean the air. Whether or not that’s true, I decided to up my green game and hope for the best. As I am still learning how to keep plants alive I decided to add some succulents. I have a sunny window in a room I’m unlikely to remember to water.
I’m using a small container I had lying around. (Yes, from a plant that previously died. Like I said, I’m still learning how to keep plants alive.) The thing with succulents and small containers is that you can’t follow the rule of threes I try to follow with containers: thriller, filler, and spiller. Instead I treat the succulents like a garden. Succulents have such variety in colour and height you can easily put together something you find visually interesting.
I’ve got a new pair of Digz gloves which are so great for gardening! They’re so comfortable and have definitely been designed with function in mind. And while I don’t generally mind repotting plants without gloves, it sure is nice to not scrub dirt from under my nails after cleaning up everything else.
Digz gloves aren’t just for gardening, however. You can use them for pretty much anything. They saved my fingers, in fact, when I was re-covering some chairs. (Pulling up all those upholstery tacks is normally a nightmare but the gloves really made a difference!)
These gloves are also touchscreen compatible. That means that if you need to stop your project midway to check the instructions or post your progress, you’re good. Or if you happen to be one of those people who actually use your phone as a phone, and you get a call while gardening, then I guess the gloves would help you there, too. I didn’t test that. I go to great lengths to forget that my phone is actually a phone.
Forget that Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, 8 other groundhogs did not. Regardless of the weather outside, you can make spring come with some indoor plants. The beauty of potted plants is that you can move them around wherever you want.
I received this pair of Digz gloves free of charge.
