This is my most favorite time of year. The crisp winter air, the sparkling Christmas lights, and a warm-yer-belly cup of steamy hot cocoa. My mother never made hot chocolate from scratch, and why would she? We always had Stephens Hot Cocoa in our pantry. I spent my days as a child drinking in all the chocolatey deliciousness that is Stephen’s Hot Cocoa. I have memories of her filling a thermos for my dad and I full of Stephens Hot Cocoa to take in his back pack up the ski lift. We’d stop at the lodge on the back of the mountain after we’d been skiing a few hours and order french fries loaded in ketchup, and pull out our thermos full of Stephen’s Hot Cocoa to warm our hands and bellies. It’s a cherished memory that I will never forget 🙂
Now that I have children of my own, we’ve started our own fun traditions with hot chocolate. We used to stop at coffee shops and get the not-so-hot-chocolate made for kiddos, but my wallet started to complain. I realized that I had the best solution already sitting in my pantry.
Now when we drive by those same coffee shops and they ask for hot chocolate, I tell them that I would love to make them a cup as soon as we get home, and that always makes them just as excited! You better believe they never forget and they’re right at the counter from the mini van as fast as their little legs can carry them.
There’s something about the warmth that it brings during the winter time. I love curling up with my sweet littles by the fire, reading Christmas stories, and drinking our hot chocolate together during the holiday season. If you’re like us and it’s a regular on the menu, you can find Stephen’s Hot Cocoa in the larger containers at Costco! My most favorite flavor of the Stephen’s varieties is Candycane Cocoa and I always buy a few extra cans from Costco in January when I know they will be retired until the weather starts to cool down again. Stephen’s has other delightful flavors like S’mores and Salted Caramel- which BTW is amazing and is rivaling my fave Candycane Cocoa these days.
Stephen’s would also make the most perfect neighbor holiday gifts! They’re compact and delicious, and would be perfectly suited with a Christmas bow right on top. We love Stephen’s so much, we’re partnering with them on a giveaway! You can win a year’s supply of Stephen’s for your pantry! Who can say no to free chocolate, amiright?!
