Our playroom is filled to the brim with toys. I’m not bragging, it’s actually super overwhelming. When things like birthdays and Christmas come up, I get stressed thinking about adding more toys to the playroom. Instead of buying them toys that will be played with a few times and then forgotten about in a week or so, I am smarter about what I will allow into the playroom.
S.T.E.M. (science, technology, engineering, math) toys are ones that I always feel good about adding. I know my kids will be paying and learning at the same time. I love seeing them use their brains to solve a puzzle and I love even more seeing the joy on their face when they find the answer.
Edushape has some really great STEM based options for my little people. The Curiosity Cubes have been a real hit at our house. I’ll be honest, I was a little skeptical when I opened the box for them but these little cubes are more than they appear. They twist and turn and have tiny balls with holed openings in each for the balls to fall through. My five year old has barely put them down since we opened them. She was able to get a large and small ball of the same color together in all separate compartments of the cube in a matter or minutes. She then handed the same cube to me and asked me to try the attempt the same task and I couldn’t do it nearly as fast as she did!
The Magic Brix have been fun for all of my littles; from age 7 down to my Little Man who is almost 2. My two big girls have had so much fun following the instructions and creating structures, and the little ones have been able to explore their imagination and come up with shapes all on their own. They are super easy to use and play with!
Edushape has been a great addition to the playroom. I love seeing my little people explore the capacity of their minds as they play.
