My daughter’s 2nd grade teacher doesn’t send any homework home this year. When I asked her what was going on, she told me that the most important thing we can do with my growing daughter is to spend at least 2o minutes reading to her and letting her read to me. I was surprised by this answer and then I thought about it some more. Reading is the gateway to all learning. We read every day and don’t even realize we’re doing it. Billboards, cereal boxes, and social media to name a few.
I love reading books with my littles but I’ll be honest Friends, sometimes I forget to make time for it every day. You better believe that I pop a squat though every time I’m handed a book from those sweet little hands. I want to soak in every moment I have with them while they’re small and books help me to slow down and enjoy the snuggle time.
It’s always fun reading light and easy fiction books, but I also love diving in and finding books that will keep their attention and teach them, and me, new things! These Books from Quarto Knows has taken learning new things to an entirely new level. They’re fact books about real life things and my little inquisitive children have been soaking in every word. Each book includes something extra to coincide with the featured subject.
The Amazing World Sea Creatures taught us all about those that lurk under the water and included 13 Glow in the Dark sea creature stickers! My 3 year old sat still and listened to the entire book without complaint and then promptly stuck the stickers all over the bathroom walls so she could close the door and look enjoy their glow in the dark. The Amazing World Stars & Planets that have more fun glow and the dark shapes and stickers.
The Creature Files: Dinosaurs taught us about 20 dinosaurs and included 3 different teeth that can be worn on a necklace! There are four more Creature Files books, all as interesting and informative as the next. My 7 year old has been infatuated with Cheetahs lately and was thrilled to learn more about them in the Predators book.
Inside Out is another book group that is expanding our minds and creating new love for things we didn’t even know we’d be interested in! There’s the Human Body, Egyptian Mummy, Sharks, and T.Rex. We’ve had the best time learning all these fun facts and love seeing my children’s faces light up when they discover something new. We love these books and know you will too!
I received these books free of charge for the purpose of this review.
This has in no way affected my opinion.
