As most our loyal readers know, I have had Amber from Bicpes.After.Babies helping me along my fitness journey with her Macro Coaching program. It’s definitely been a journey for me; and if I’m being honest, it’s been more of a battle. I have had ups and downs, and it’s been a huge bonus to have her in my corner cheering me on. For me it’s not the exercising part that can be hard, it’s what I am putting into my mouth that I struggle with! Can anyone else relate?? Sometimes that brownie seems like it will be so worth it… but it’s NOT! Well, not always. Don’t be deceived by the chocolate (it tricks me all the time).
For those of you that aren’t familiar with macro coaching, let me give a little explanation. We have three main Macro nutrients in all our food that are essential for our bodies and I bet you’ve already heard of them: Fats, Carbohydrates, and Protein. Our bodies depend on these three macronutrients for survival, but sometimes we can take in too much of one and not enough of the other, and our metabolism can go a little wacky- and so can our body weight. If we can figure out how many grams of each to take in on a daily basis while trying to lose or maintain our body weight, we can have the results we want without feeling like we’re actually “dieting”. That friends, is the number one reason I love having the power to macro count. Guess what, if I can fit that chocolate in my macros for the day, I can eat it! I don’t feel like I am depriving myself of the things (like chocolate) that bring me joy. And yes, I know I said joy. I also love all of Amber’s food tips and tricks on her instagram! She’s helped me to open my eyes when it comes to weighing and measuring my food.
Amber had a client profile for me to fill out when we first began, detailing my activity levels and body measurements so she could figure out exactly where I needed to personally to find the weight loss results I wanted. It was helpful to get reassuring emails and texts from her when I was having a hard week. She always pumped me up and made sure to help me set more detailed goals so I could have a better week. It’s also great to get her cheering you on when you have success because it totally doesn’t feel like bragging when it’s your coach 🙂 It’s also super helpful when you’re getting tips and tricks from someone that’s been there and found success on their very own fitness journey!
