If you’re on Instagram at all, I’m sure you’ve heard about “Macros”. It seems to be all the rage these days and I will tell you what, I can see why. Every body needs a variation of the 3 macronutrients to function: fats, protein, and carbohydrates. The tricky part is figuring out exactly what your body needs not only to function, but also to lose weight and burn fat. This is exactly why I have a Macro Coach to guide me a long.
I have been on a Macro Coaching journey with Amber from biceps.after.babies the last six weeks. She has been helping me along to make better choices by tracking my food into the macro categories by gram: fats, protein, and carbs. A journey is a nice way of saying I have a long way to go before I reach my goals. Lucky for me, Amber keeps herself available and is a great sounding board for ideas, motivation, and tips. She sends emails three times a week to help keep my goals in mind, and she even provides her personal cell phone number so I can text her when I need a super quick response!

What I love about counting my macros is that it’s so flexible! I feel empowered when I’m making a meal, rather than punished. Another thing that helps me is finding recipes that are healthy and delicious. Amber has some awesome ones on her Instagram feed, and another one of my favorites is Clean Simple Eats! Her meal plans are easy to follow and freaking delicious. I have never made something from her cookbook that I didn’t like, and she has all the macros listed on every meal, making it super easy to track. Once you get your Macro Count from Amber, you’ll know exactly what you need to follow it.
The last six weeks haven’t been perfect for me. I’ve had some mega stress surface and I seem to have gotten behind on several key areas in my life, and Amber has been there to help me along. Even though I haven’t had a huge change yet, the inches keep falling off and I know that I will start to really notice a difference in the way I look as I focus more on staying consistent. I already feel different from the inside because duh, eating healthy and exercising is totally good for you! When I take care of myself, I can be a better wife, mother, and PERSON. I tend to forget to put myself first and counting my macros has been great for me to feel accountable to becoming a better version of myself.
