Just like I feed my family healthy food I try to do the same for the canine member of our family, Hermes, our miniature poodle. Many pet owners like myself feel that a pet both enriches and improves the lives of their family, so it only makes sense that our pets health and wellness is a top priority.
Finding the best products for your pet can be difficult. You want to find products that not only are cost efficient but are full of healthy ingredients. That is why I really like Purina because I don’t have to compromise quality and care for cost. Purina offers a wide variety of products that enrich pet’s wellness and health. Purina also offers natural food selections via their Dog and Cat Chow Natural and Beyond Natural products.
Being a busy Mom of two kids I definitely appreciate that the Purina products I love are conveniently located where I often shop for my family’s food needs; Giant Food (and also Stop & Shop). No more running to a separate store for my pet’s needs–I can get them all in one place! Hallelujah!
Hermes is absolutely loving Purina Dog Chow Natural which I must say I love as well (no, I haven’t ate it). I just love the fact that it is made with REAL chicken and contains no artificial flavors, preservatives or colors. It provides 100% complete and balanced nutrition for dogs and in turn helps them live long and healthy lives.
Now, if you are a pet owner you will know that dog/cat breath is the WORST. That is why I am grateful that this year Purina introduced DentaLife products for cats and dogs. Dentalife products assist with dental health and help reduce tartar buildup when you may not have the time to brush their teeth on a daily basis. I really like that these products contain no artificial colors or flavors.
I am always running after my dog to brush his teeth whenever I get a spare minute. My dog, Hermes, is smart and loves to hide when he figures out I am about to clean his teeth. I have put together a tutorial and a few tips that have helped me keep my dog’s teeth clean below*;
Stay calm-if you are nervous your dog can sense it. Do not let your dog see the toothbrush or toothpaste. If my dog notices either of those objects he takes off. It is best to grab your pet first before getting the toothbrush/toothpaste.
I hold my dog under my arm and use one hand to pry open his mouth and the other for brushing. I start brushing on the bottom and then eventually move to the top teeth. Don’t forget to brush the tongue this is where a lot of bacteria lives.
In between teeth cleaning I give my dog Purina DentaLife products to reduce tartar build up. You can try new Purina DentaLife products with a $2 coupon available here.
